Recycling & Disposal
Don't believe us - believe the numbers
Did you know that in Germany alone we throw away over 145 million toothbrushes every year? We want to fight this problem as sustainably as possible and need your support. After all, this planet is our home.
Environmentally friendly disposal of brush heads and accessories
For optimal oral hygiene, we recommend that you replace the attachment on your toothbrush after two months. Our attachments are biodegradable, however we recommend separating the bristles from the attachment. Check with your local authority which bin you can throw the attachment in. This varies from place to place.
Environmentally friendly disposal & recycling of the KOA V2 sonic toothbrush
So that the brush can be properly recycled, please hand it in at a municipal collection point for old electronic devices.
Exchange and repair instead of rubbish bin
Do you already know our new bamtoo Recharge subscription ? This is our approach to doing business even more sustainably. With the subscription you have a lifetime guarantee and instead of throwing away the toothbrushes, we'll do our best to fix them. We will also replace your KOA V2 sonic toothbrush free of charge if the battery is weak.
Battery Disposal Instructions
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we are obliged to point out the following to you:
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries. The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury.
According to European directives and the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), old devices and all electronic parts included in the scope of delivery may not be disposed of with household waste. The adjacent symbol means that the old device and the electronic parts included in the scope of delivery must be disposed of separately from household waste for the purpose of reuse.
